What to Expect During Your First Visit to Saryan Dental in Glendale

Starting with a new dentist can feel uncertain — especially if it's been a while since your last visit. At Saryan Dental in Glendale, CA, we've been helping patients feel comfortable since 1986. Here's exactly what to expect when you come in for your first appointment so there are no surprises.

Step 1: Paperwork & Health History

We'll ask you to complete a short health history form covering any medications, allergies, and past dental work. This helps our team understand your full health picture and tailor your care accordingly. You can arrive 10–15 minutes early, or ask us to send forms in advance.

Step 2: Digital X-Rays

Most new patient visits include a full set of digital X-rays. These allow Dr. Saryan to see what's happening beneath the surface — checking for decay, bone loss, infections, or alignment issues that aren't visible to the naked eye. Our digital X-rays emit significantly less radiation than traditional film X-rays.

Step 3: Comprehensive Exam

Dr. Chris or Dr. David Saryan will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, bite, and jaw. We screen for cavities, gum disease, oral cancer, TMJ issues, and more. For patients with implant needs, we may use our state-of-the-art 3D CBCT scanner for a more detailed view.

Step 4: Professional Cleaning

Our hygienist will remove built-up tartar and plaque, then polish your teeth. If deeper cleaning is needed due to gum disease, we'll discuss a periodontal treatment plan.

Step 5: Treatment Planning & Conversation

After your exam, Dr. Saryan will walk you through any findings and discuss recommended treatments — with no pressure. We'll go over costs, insurance coverage, and financing options so you can make informed decisions at your own pace.
