Many people have always asked, "When should I bring in my child for their first dental visit?" and now the ADA has published an answer. That answer is beginning at no later than 1 year old. It can be sooner than that as long as the child has at least one tooth erupted. This is important because one should always remember that it is always easier to prevent than it is to treat. Bringing in your child as soon as possible could prevent palatal malformations and correct problems such as overbites, underbites, crossbites by a far lesser invasive procedure than if they are performed at a later date.
