A recent trend has come about where charcoal is being used for oral health treatment including teeth whitening. This is interesting as charcoal is usually associated with dirtiness and has been known to blacken objects, not whiten them. With these promises, there has been a surge in sales through online marketplaces in charcoal containing dentifrices and powders.

Although some people have claimed success using charcoal based products for oral health, it is important to note that not enough research has been done to verify these claims and it is important to remain cautious when using these products. For safety, it is recommended to wait for more research to be completed in order to verify these claims.
